FAQManufacture / InstallationWill a frame work on my TV? We sell frames for wall-mounted, flat panel televisions only. Our frames are not manufactured for use on rear-projection TVs, projector screens, DLP TVs, or standard tube (non-flat panel) televisions. If your TV is a flat panel and mounted on the wall, you are ready for a frame. Please ensure that your wall mount can support approximately 20 pounds of additional weight. How do I install the frame? You just remove the frame from the shipping container, slip it over the TV, and attach the mounting straps around the back of the TV. No tools are required - just a friend. You will not need to un-mount the TV from the wall. For more information, please see the Installation page How are the frames manufactured? Our frames are hand made in Austin, Texas by experienced custom picture framers. The frame is cut to the exact specifications of your TV model number. All corners are hand fitted and professionally filled to eliminate gaps. We use only the best, museum quality woods to create finely crafted frames, including hardwoods from Larson-Juhl - the premier manufacturer of frame molding. ![]() How long does it take for my order to arrive? Each frame is custom made to your specifications. Please allow 2-3 weeks for manufacture and delivery. It may take a bit longer in certain circumstances or for very large TVs. Please allow 6 weeks for manufacture and delivery outside of the Continental United States. We make every effort to get your frame to you as quickly as possible. What if my TV is recessed in the wall? You will need to allow for the width of the frame around the entire TV. Position your mouse over the frame options to see the width of each frame. The recessed wall opening should also account for the depth of the frame - listed as the 'side of TV coverage', while maintaining space for ventilation. Will my remote still work if I frame my TV? Yes, the mat used to cover the bezel (border) of your television (and any logos, etc) will not block remote control signals or sound from built in speakers. (Note: the mat may overlap a very small amount of the screen). Any buttons, cable inputs, or built in DVD players on the side of your television will most likely be obstructed by the frame. My television is mounted at an angle from the wall. Will a frame still work? Yes, as a border around the TV, the frame will be angled also. Please ensure that the side coverage of the frame (listed when you hover over the frame choices) will not hit the wall on the side closest to the wall. In other words, if your TV tilts slightly downward (closer to the wall at the bottom, which is fairly common), please ensure that the frame will not hit the wall at the bottom of the TV. ![]() What if my TV has built in speakers? The mat used to cover the bezel (border) of your television (and any logos, etc) will not block remote control signals or sound from built in speakers. (Note: the mat may overlap a very small amount of the screen). Any buttons, cable inputs, or built in DVD players on the side of your television will most likely be obstructed by the frame. What if my TV has a removable sound bar or speaker bar? Frames are designed to fit televisions without optional sound bars or speaker bars. Any removable accessories such as sound or speaker bars must be removed before framing. If you would like to create a custom frame to accommodate optional accessories, please contact us. My television is mounted vertically (in portrait mode); will the frame still work? Yes, the mounting straps are designed to hold frames securely to TVs mounted in landscape and portrait mode. Frame Details / QuestionsMy TV model is not listed. Can you still frame it? Absolutely - select Custom TV, and enter your TV model number. Are the frames weatherproof / Can I use them outdoors? No, the frames are not meant for hanging on an outdoor television. How much will a frame add to the width and height of the TV? Position your mouse over the frame choice and an information box will list the width of each frame. This is the approximate amount that the frame will add to each side of the TV (and the top and bottom). ![]() How much of the side of the TV does the frame cover? It varies from 2 to 4 inches. Position your mouse over the frame choice and an information box will list the side coverage (how much of the TV's depth is covered by the frame). This is important to consider since some TVs are relatively thick, and the frame may not cover all of the TV when viewed from the side. It is also important to have some space between the frame and the wall to allow for ventilation. We recommend a low-profile TV mount. If you are recessing the TV into the wall, it is very important to allow for adequate ventilation as well as additional space for the width of the frame. ![]() Can you frame smaller televisions? We can frame any size flat panel TV from 15" to 103". If you do not see your TV, select Custom TV and enter your TV model number. Do you have design ideas? Please see our TV frame design gallery. Can I order the mat only? Yes. Mats for TVs up to 42" are $199.95. Larger sizes are more. Please contact us with your TV model. What does the back of the frame look like? The back of the frame is open, exposing the back of the TV and the heavy duty mounting straps that attach the frame to the TV. The sides of the frame are finished and the back face of the wood molding (against the wall) is raw wood. This is designed to allow adequate ventilation. ![]() Shipping / BillingHow much is shipping? Shipping cost varies based on the size of the frame, ranging from $19 to over $150 for very large frames. Shipping outside the Continental US is more and can take up to 6 weeks.
